I just learnt that this great female Irish writer died this weekend in Dublin. I’ve read two of her books, The Story of Chicago May and My Dream of You and was fascinated each time by her unique voice and the mix between fiction and (auto)biography. You can find here and here my reviews of her books. She had a great way of mixing history, especially Irish, with personal choices and a female perspective. I really look forward to reading other books by her.

I was so sad when I heard this. I read one of her novels several years ago and always meant to read her autobiography. I read the last interview she gave and it was completely heartbreaking!
