This sounds like a wonderful book. I’ve never been to Paris but I hope to visit someday. I think it is fascinating looking through other’s eyes at things you are familiar with. It gives things a sparkle of newness for a little while.

How funny! I never realised the French disliked name-dropping, but it’s a terrible habit and I can’t say that I appreciate it myself!

It really is interesting to read about your own culture through someone else’s eyes! I will have to look for this book, because Paris is a city I would love to revisit. You’re so lucky to live in a place that others dream about–even if you don’t live near all the touristy places I think about when I think of Paris.
